Free Speech is a lot like the TV show Friends. It’s been around for a while, it’s foundational to the quality of our lives as American citizens, and it has a massive trivia following. Yet, like when Rachel went on a date with Joey right after having Ross’ baby, Emma, there are a few parts of both that nobody likes but we all accept as part of the whole. For free speech, that part is hate speech – the coal under the Christmas tree. But we protect its existence under the umbrella of civil liberties we enjoy as Americans.

So, hey, if you like Friends despite the tragic moments, you should like free speech too. And buy a shirt about it!
